Obstetrics is the medical field devoted to pregnancy. Obstetricians provide prenatal care, deliver your baby, and manage your health during the postpartum period. As your obstetrician at Trusted Women’s Health Center, Dr. Aldabbagh focuses on one thing: Protecting the health of you and your baby.
Your prenatal care begins when you’re eight weeks pregnant. You have monthly appointments until week 28, and then you visit Dr. Aldabbagh every two weeks. When you reach 36 weeks, you have weekly check-ups until your baby arrives.
At each visit, Dr. Aldabbagh checks your weight, heart rate, and blood pressure, and the size and heartbeat of your baby. At certain times in your pregnancy, you have routine blood and urine tests to monitor for concerns like gestational diabetes, infections, and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Your baby also undergoes screenings for spina bifida and chromosomal abnormalities.
