What is Kybella?

Kybella is an FDA-approved injectable medicine that eliminates excess fat under your chin. While most people call this problem a double chin, the medical term is submental fat.

Kybella contains a substance called deoxycholic acid. Your liver naturally produces deoxycholic acid and uses it to break down fats. When Dr. Aldabbagh injects the synthetic form in Kybella, it does the same thing: It breaks down the fat cells under your skin.

You can return to your usual routine as soon as your treatment is finished, but you may want to plan for downtime because you may have redness, bruising, pain, or hardness in the treated area.

How many Kybella treatment sessions will I need?

During your consultation, Dr. Aldabbagh discusses the number of treatment sessions you may need based on the amount of fat under your chin. You can have up to six sessions spaced at least one month apart if needed to achieve optimal results.

How long will my Kybella results last?
