What is Osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become weaker and more brittle. It is very common, with 3 million new cases every year. While it cannot be cured, it can be treated. Typically, the body absorbs and replaces bone tissue through bone-making cells. With osteoporosis, a new bone tissue is not being produced fast enough in comparison to the amount of bone tissue being broken down.
What Type of Osteoporosis Treatment do You Recommend?
Dr. Sidiq’s focus in regards to osteoporosis is conducting Bone Density tests to women at age 50 or within the first two to three years after becoming menopausal. We encourage our patients to ask us about treatment, which is a holistic approach that caters to your lifestyle and needs.
